Can I book more than one class at a time?
Yes and you can manage this through your personal log-in. At the checkout you'll have the option to pay for a single class or purchase a multi-class pack which can be used against the current and future bookings.
What should I wear?
Because Pilates is all about precise, controlled movement we do find it easier to pick up any corrections if you wear form-fitting clothes such as leggings. However this isn't essential. The only absolute 'must' is that your clothes are comfortable and allow freedom of movement.
What do I bring?
Please bring your own water bottle. We supply a pilates mat and props for each student. Of course, you're welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
What level of fitness or flexibility do I need?
Pilates mat classes are suitable for all people, bodies, abilities and fitness levels. Classes are layered with different levels of progression and difficulty. This enables Claire to tailor movements to individual needs, ensuring everyone has a good session with an appropriate level of challenge.
What if I have an injury?
If you are suffering from ongoing injury or undiagnosed pain, it is always advisable to see a specialist before undertaking Pilates. If in doubt about your capacity to participate, please feel free to reach out.
If you have the all-clear to excercise, it's important to let Claire know about the injury. She'll work with you to make any modifcations or adaptions that you may need to participate fully in the class.
Can I talk to you before I book?
Of course. If you have questions please email Claire with your phone number and she'll give you a call. If you're unsure about whether Pilates is right for you, a chat is always a great starting point. You can also learn more about Pilates here.
What if I'm pregnant in my first trimester?
You can participate in mat classes during your first trimester, however it is essential you inform Claire prior to the class starting. Most Pilates movements are fine, but you'll require small modifications to keep you and your baby safe.
What if I'm pregnant beyond my first trimester?
We're unable to accept mat class bookings for those beyond their first trimester of pregnancy due to the specific safety needs of you and your baby. At this stage of pregnancy we believe that it's best to attend a specific 'Pilates for pregnancy' class or a private studio session.
What if I'm Post-Natal?
We believe it's best to see a women's health physiotherapist after giving birth to address any needs specific to your experience. Once you have the all clear to return to exercise, please go ahead and book a group Pilates mat class. It's essential to still let Claire know you're post-natal as some modifications are required when returning to exercise. Please email Claire for a chat if you're unsure about booking a class.
